Small Town Memory Lane

He had a black t-shirt on and bifocals thick as cream pie. He wanted coffee so I turned on my heels to fetch it for him. I returned to the table and set a steaming mug of joe in front of him. A moment passed and his eyes scrunched up.
“Did you ever get the photos from Guys & Dolls?”
I was confused, what photos? Who was this guy?
He said he was a photographer and shot the photos for the play my high school put on when I was a senior in 2011. I’m certain that a century has passed since then, yet he remembered me.
I hadn’t ever gotten the photos that this man was talking about. I’m not sure any of us did. So he decided to surprise me with a CD copy of the photos from the whole show. He brought it into the restaurant later that day.
The cast was made out of pure high school gold; India, Chris, Alex, Lisa, Justin Armour, and many many many more talented individuals. It’s awesome to look back at this production and see just how far we have all come and grown since we brought this show together. Meeting the photographer and seeing these pictures reminds me to be thankful for the past, to be thankful for my hometown, and to embrace these meaningful coincidences..

I hope the people in these photos get to see them, smile a bit, and remember how hard we worked and how much fun we had. I’m sure you are all still applying hard work and having fun into your daily lives.

Much love and appreciation,

(Hint: Click on the first photo to bring them all up in a gallery slide show type thing)
